Overview
Under the direction and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager provides guidance, supervision, and leadership for unit staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists the Nurse Manager with unit based materials management. The Assistant Nurse Manager provides family-centered patient care that is based in scientific theory and is outcome focused, supervises the delivery of patient care and manages shift operations, and demonstrates commitment to maintaining and improving departmental/unit standards. The Assistant Nurse Manager solves problems effectively, communicating and collaborating with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Personnel Management.
- Utilizes the nursing process to develop a comprehensive plan of care for the patient/famly which promotes optimal patient outcomes.
- Under the direction of and in collaboration with the Nurse Leader, manages unit material resources, such as equipment and supplies.
- Under the direction of and collaboration with the Nurse Manager, provides leadership for unit meetings, assigned committees, and educational activities.
- Provides leadership for effective problem solving, communication and collaboration between stakeholders to achieve the common goal of safe, high quality patient care.
- Participates in department and organization performance improvement activities.
- Bachelor's Degree
- BSN required
- 1-2 years experience Clinical nursing experience and progressive experience in leadership roles.
- Master's Degree Preferred A master's degree in nursing may be accepted in lieu of a BSN.
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit’s patient population (determined by Nurse Manager/Director) Preferred
