Overview
This role is responsible for project management of a large scale and complex information systems migration. Therefore , Epic implementation and migration experience is strongly preferred. The Information Systems Project Manager is accountable for creating plans using appropriate frameworks (e.g. PMP/Waterfall, Agile); collaborating with multiple IS and business stakeholders to maintain and manage plan; coordinating with vendors on any external deliverables; communicating status, managing risks, and managing project budgets. Primary accountability for effectiveness and quality of delivery of project components. This role also works with peers and leadership on development of, and continuous improvement to, portfolio management processes and tools.
This is a full-time, temporary role for approximately 2-3 years. This role comes with Children's Mercy Benefits and PTO! Incumbent must live in the KC metro area and will be required to come onsite for meetings as needed.

Responsibilities
Design and develop project plans, charters and other relevant artifacts:
- Determine appropriate project management framework and approach
- Collaborate with stakeholders on creating quality, complete and accurate deliverables including but not limited to charters, plans, risk/issues, budget management, RFPs/product selection criteria, QA/test plans, status reports, implementation (go-live) planning
- Maintain, in collaboration with others as necessary, all deliverables required for project delivery
- Primary liaison between IS resources and internal and/or external stakeholders including but not limited to clinical units, administrative units, procurement/purchasing, third party vendors, suppliers.
- Contribute to creation of policies and processes related to portfolio management
- Participate in the selection and management of project management tools and repositories
- Train and mentor others in the use of policies, processes and tools
- Participate in the creation of dashboards/metrics in order to transparently and effectively measure progress and quality
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years' experience. Healthcare IT experience in a hospital, ambulatory or with a technology vendor preferred. OR
- High School diploma, or equivalent, and 7 or more years' experience.
- Epic systems migration experience strongly preferred
- Project Management experience
- HIMSS certification Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile certification Preferred
