Overview This position is responsible for reviewing and handling the incoming correspondence that is received within the Patient Financial Services Department from Commercial Insurance plans as well as Government Programs. This incumbent is also responsible for maintaining the work standard set forth within the Patient Financial Services Departmental standards. • May be assigned to process payments, adjustments, claims, correspondence, refunds, denials, financial/charity applications, and/or payment plans in an accurate and timely manner, meeting goals in work quality and productivity. Coordinates with other staff members and departments as necessary to ensure correct processing.
• Assists Specialist, Coordinator, Supervisor and/or Manager with departmental processes and/or special projects.
• Assist with other areas of the Patient Financial Services Department by being cross-trained as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and 1-2 years experience 1 year prior experience in medical insurance billing, insurance follow-up, customer service and/or collections will help this candidate to keep up with work standards for the successful completion of his/her job responsibilities. or
• HS diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years experience Experience in medical insurance billing, insurance follow-up, customer service and/or collections will help this candidate to keep up with work standards for the successful completion of his/her job responsibilities.

The pay range for this job begins at $18.74/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience. Remote Work/Work from Home This position is entirely remote or work-from-home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area and may attend on-site meetings, as scheduled.
