• Job Summary
  • The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant with education, training, certification and licensure to provide care for a specified patient population. This individual will deliver longitudinal care for patients including prevention/management of common pediatric illnesses and chronic conditions. This care is provided to support optimal health of children within the context of their family, community, and environmental setting. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and scholarships. In addition to managing patient care, the APP may be required to utilize invasive interventions and procedures to promote physiologic stability. This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, the Director of Advanced Practice Providers, staff nurses and other team members.
• Education
  • DNP, MSN or Post-Graduate Certificate with specialization as a pediatric nurse practitioner or family nurse practitioner
    OR
  • Graduate of master’s or doctoral level physician assistant program
• Experience
  • At least 1 year of nursing or medical experience required with experience in the subspecialty area preferred.
• Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
  • Must be eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner as determined by the Alabama Board of Nursing or as a physician assistant as determined by the Alabama Board of Medicine
  • Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama for nurse practitioners
  • Current BLS/PALS certification
  • Valid Primary Care PNP, Acute Care PNP or FNP from appropriate certifying board or certification as PA-C from NCCPA
