- Works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs to provide assistive care and communication for patients, team members, professional, and technical staff, and visitors. On call and call back as assigned nights, weekends and holidays required.
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have at least one of the following:
- Six months of patient care experience within the last two years.
- Enrolled in a medical related college program and in clinical rotation.
- CNA,CMA, PCT or EMT certification.
- Candidates who are a graduate of an accredited nursing program waiting on NCLEX re-testing will also be considered for this position.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have at least one of the following:
- Experience
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current BLS certification required.
Additional Information
Children’s of Alabama Benjamin Russell campus has three general PACU’s: Benjamin Russell, Minor Procedure and Imaging. Benjamin Russell recovers for 14 OR’s inpatients/outpatients and one Interventional Radiology room, Minor Procedure recovers for 7 OR rooms inpatients/outpatients, Imaging covers PreProcedure through discharge for outpatient/inpatient Imaging general anesthesia patients. Our patients include neonate to adult populations recovering from general anesthesia after a variety of surgeries including but not limited to Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Dental, GI, GU, Ophthalmic, Pulmonary, Plastics and General. The acuity ranges from acute to critical care. Our staff are trained with the flexibility to work in all three areas and they work a variety of shifts that cover our operating time from 7am-11pm through the week as well as weekend and call back shifts.
