- The clinician is a professional nurse who is an expert in the care of a specified patient population/subspecialty area. The clinician assumes a leadership role and supervisory responsibilities in the development, organization, and implementation of care services for the specified patient population.
- Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Experience
- Education and experience as follows:
- ADN degree with a minimum of five years recent nursing experience; a minimum of 3 years in pediatric subspecialty preferred.
- OR
- BSN degree with a minimum of four years of recent clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting
- OR
- MSN degree with a minimum of three years recent nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, preferably outpatient setting
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current RN License in the State of Alabama
- Current BLS certificate required, BLS Instructor preferred.
Additional Information
The Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Division at Children's of Alabama provides comprehensive multidisciplinary evaluation and management of pediatric gastrointestinal, liver and nutritional problems. These may include conditions such as liver disease, feeding disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis, functional GI disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, and inflammatory bowel disease. Academic Fellows, Residents and Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners also provide world-class, disease-specific care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD.
Multidisciplinary patient-centered care is the focus of the Division. Close interaction with Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Anesthesiology and Nutrition services provide ample opportunity for optimizing patient care.
