- Job Summary
- Responsible for providing clean and sterile surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for use on patients undergoing surgery. Prepares for cases by obtaining all supplies and equipment necessary to perform each case according to surgeon's preference cards. Manages the sterile field during surgical procedures.
The Operating Room Technician will demonstrate exceptional motivational skills to enhance the efficient flow of patients through our system. He/she will collect and communicate patient/family specific information based on age specific requirements and inform the appropriate personnel/supervisor of deficiencies or potential problems. Implements and maintains the appropriate standard of care based on age specific categories recommended by the Medical Executive Committee. Contributes to the Children's Hospital Mission - TO PROVIDE THE FINEST PEDIATRIC HEALTH SERVICES TO ALL CHILDREN IN AN ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND MEDICAL EDUCATION. THE HOSPITAL WILL SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE TO ALL CHILDREN AND WORK TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING CHILDREN'S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.

- Education
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience
- Graduate of an approved Operating Room Technician program or one year of ORT experience.
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current BLS certification.
