Pediatric RN
Summary
Responsible to the physicians for the full scope of nursing duties
Responsibilities
Administer immunizations, antibiotics, allergy shots and oral medications.
Assist with traumas, clean and prepare the wound for treatment.
Counsel patients in office and by telephone.
Administer Nebulilzer treatments for asthma patients.
Perform catheterizations.
Assist physicians when necessary during patient situations.
Triage patients in the office as needed.
Triage patient calls to determine if they need to be seen or can medication be prescribed, based on doctor's approval.
Call in prescriptions for patients that have called in for advice and medication.
Fill out forms needed by patients for daycare, schools, college, WIC forms, etc.
Transfer information to charts, during patient calls, phone reports, and inform the physician of report.
Perform audio, visual tests and tympanograms when needed..
Assist with patient education, i.e., Asthma and Diabetes.
Order supplies and medications.
Performs other duties as required
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Experience in pediatric or clinic/office setting is preferred
Current Alabama license. BCLS certification within 30 days of employment.
