- THE SPECIALTY CARE SERVICES STAFF NURSE is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Patients/families in his/her area.
- Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Associate degree or diploma at least one year of recent nursing experience required, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting.
- OR
- BSN or MSN a minimum of 6 months experience preferred, preferably in pediatrics, preferably in outpatient setting
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Experience
- Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
- Current RN License in the State of Alabama
- Current BLS Certification
Additional Information
Includes six Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist, 1 Board Certified Pediatric Hepatologist, 9 Board Certified Infectious Disease Physicians. Some specialty Services provided are renal and liver transplant, nephrotic syndrome, hematuria, ESRD and Post Covid Care. Academic Fellows, Residents, and Certified Nurse Practitioners also provide care in this area under the supervision of the attending MD. We provide an array of multidisciplinary services to our complex patients with chronic conditions including but not limited to: surgical, medical, pharmacy, nutrition, financial coordinator and psycho-social team (social workers, psychologists, family counselors, school teachers and child life specialists). Basic referral information is required for new patient consults and information may be requested prior to arrival for appointment related to symptoms, prior history, test and procedures performed.
