What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Director - The Children's Workshop Foundation position at CHILDRENS WORKSHOP FOUNDATION?
The School Director is responsible for the overall operations of the school, including but not limited to: managing employees, licensing and regulations, safety and supervision of children, family communications and relations, managing building appearance, and financials. The Director will accept the philosophy of The Children’s Workshop Foundation and will work as part of the management team to encourage a positive learning environment for all children within the school. The Director will be required to perform other duties as needed, to maintain the school at an optimal level of teachers, staff and student.
Requirements:To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skills required.
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree with at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- 3 years experience in child care, a school, or related setting
- 3 years managerial or supervisory experience
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood education
Other Requirements:
- Reliable Transportation
- Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency situation
- Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours
- Must be able to write, read, and understand printed material in English, and be able to communicate with families and employees
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Must be able to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Completion of required trainings as set by TCW and licensing agencies
- CPR/First Aid Certification required
- Current health physical
- Completed CANTS background check and BCI/fingerprint background check
