What are the responsibilities and job description for the Immediate Response Clinician position at ChildSavers?
ChildSavers is seeking Master’s-level clinicians who are licensed or license-eligible to provide mental health services to our children and families.
This position is part of the ChildSavers Mental Health Services team, where services include trauma-focused therapy, community-based prevention, and immediate response support. Clinicians will engage in specialized modalities such as brief trauma therapy, de-escalation, art therapy, sand tray therapy, play therapy, attachment work, case management, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, our community prevention efforts are conducted through collaborations with local partners and school districts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Immediate Response clinicians will participate in monthly on-call rotation, providing in-person and/or over-the-phone psychological first aid to children and families who reach our 24/7 crisis line following a traumatic event or disclosure.
- Provide short-term, trauma-focused therapy to children and families, ensuring services are delivered through a trauma-informed lens.
- Engage in community-based prevention work in partnership with schools and community organizations.
- Support the overall growth of cultural competencies within the organization
This role operates under the supervision of the Immediate Response Program Supervisor and Mental Health Services Program Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of Master’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or licensure-track related human services field with experience working with children from a Trauma-Informed Care Perspective.
- Must be eligible for supervision towards licensure (i.e., Supervisee in Social Work or Resident in Counseling)
- Must hold a valid Commonwealth of VA Driver’s License and be insurable to drive a company vehicle (if needed)
- Must have current CPR/First Aid Certification or agree to complete within time frame provided by immediate supervisor
- Other requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards
Salary Range
$55,000-$60,000 / annually
