What You'll Do
- Supervise the team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Ensure development of staff to achieve high results. Promote engagement and satisfaction to drive retention. Collaborate with management team to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide backup to team and assist with other duties as assigned.
- Develop, lead, and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and standards. Oversee pro-active and effective inventory controls to reduce loss. Develop and produce reporting to meet pro-active strategic needs regarding forecasting of demand and to minimize purchasing costs. Assist team with implementation of processes as needed.
- Ensure cost-effective procurement of all products. Evaluate contracts to ensure best outcomes. Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, ensuring timely resolution of issues and concerns. Evaluate vendors based on quality, price and reliability. Ensure that procured items meet quality standards and promptly address any discrepancies in orders and deliveries.
- Develop, implement, and ensure strict adherence to established purchasing and inventory policies and procedures across all locations and services, including the corporate bid process. Document and resolve any discrepancies in orders, deliveries, and inventory counts to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Degree with emphasis on supply chain management preferred.
- Five years of inventory and purchasing experience required with at least two years leading an inventory and/or a purchasing service/function. Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively lead a team.
- Computer skills; specifically Microsoft products.
- Ability to work onsite at Johnston, Iowa location.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and follow applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to communicate in English effectively for understanding, in writing and verbally.
