Graphic Designer/Web Designer

Job description

We are looking for a graphic designer/website designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for our print publication, Chilled magazine as well as our active website, chilledmagazine.com. The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, layouts and photos. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of our magazine, website, media kit, sell sheets, and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience.

Responsibilities

• Study design and determine requirements
• Schedule projects
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
• Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
• Strong knowledge and proven experience with font usage
• Work with copywriters and creative director to produce final design
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
• Maintain our website content posting and design elements
• Create and schedule our email blasts and newsletters

Skills

• Proven graphic design and website design experience
• A strong portfolio of magazine page layout, website design and other graphics
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Knowledge of WordPress and website design
• Knowledge of email design software and layout (Constant Contact)
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
