What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Housing Assistant position at Chillicothe Metropolitan Housing Authority?
Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Public Housing Assistant assists the Public Housing Programs; performs a variety of administrative tasks related to determining applicant eligibility; receives and reviews applications; screens and interviews housing applicants; advises applicants of program guidelines; explains housing procedures; conducts annual reviews of tenant files; conducts interim reviews of tenant files; calculates tenant portion of rent payment; schedules Public Housing inspections; schedules re-certifications; verifies accuracy of information contained on applications; notifies applicants and landlords of rent amounts and appointments.
Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent (Associate's degree) preferred; completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED) required; minimum of one (1) month of experience and/or training in the management of housing facilities for the physically challenged, elderly, or economically disadvantaged; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week/5 days, 8 hours each day).
