Position Summary: The Finisher is responsible for preparing, sanding and executing the complete finishing process. Use of all finishing stains and topcoats for wood products. Perform final finish of custom furniture and cabinetry to specified colors and finishes. Prepare for packaging and delivery.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, sand and finish items to prepare them for finishing using supplied hand tools and finish equipment.
- Operating the specialized heated spray room.
- Operate and maintain all equipment to include, but not limited to: downdraft sanding bench, intake air make-up unit filters, paint room locker, air assisted airless pressure pots, gravity feed guns, mini mixer, air turbine sprayer, pneumatic sanders, and polishers.
- Accurately mixing of finish ingredients to obtain desired colors, shades and finishes.
- Follow blueprints to archive the approved colors.
- Brush, spray, or hand rub finishing ingredients such as paint, stain into wood grain.
- Applying the selection of lacquer, top coating or other sealers. Using the finish software to record all mixtures into the software system.
- Trouble shooting of processes pertaining to finishing and equipment maintenance.
- Responsible for ordering the correct materials and keeping the proper inventories.
- Ensure consistent high standards and superior quality at all times.
- Maintain efficient time management, schedule, timeliness and demonstrate initiative.
- Maintain equipment and appropriate handling of hazardous materials at all times.
- Maintain organized work area, neat and clean.
- All other duties and tasks as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand shop and architectural drawings
- Basic woodworking knowledge and knowledge of different wood species
- Application of all commercial coatings
- Ability to operate and maintain finish equipment
- Effective communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work and interact well with co-workers and vendors
Physical Ability:
- Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy objects of 50lbs independently
- Ability to work or stand for the length of your work shift
Education and Experience Required:
- 8 Years finish experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience with custom cabinetry and furniture
- Touch up experience is essential

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
