About the Role

As a Privacy Program Manager at Chime, you will have the substantial role of advancing our privacy framework—structuring concrete strategies and administering our privacy program's screws and bolts to safeguard our members' data. By steering privacy management tools and collaborating across diverse teams, you'll contribute to the firm's treatment of information with the respect and security it warrants. In this capacity, you're not only a guardian of data but also a key player in upholding and leveraging industry benchmarks for privacy, opening doors to hone your skills in cutting-edge fields like AI oversight and cybersecurity.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $116,100 and up to $161,300. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Develop and implement comprehensive privacy policies tailored to different business areas, maintaining robust data protection and adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Manage and oversee the effective use of privacy management software and platforms, integrating them seamlessly into Chime's operations.
  • Facilitate collaboration across various departments to assess and mitigate privacy risks. Work with product, engineering, security, compliance, and other teams to create and oversee a comprehensive privacy impact analysis program.
  • Contribute to Chime business operations' alignment with privacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices by integrating tailored policies and controls into the company's culture.
  • Collaborate with Security, IT, Engineering, and other teams towards making privacy an integral part of Chime's data processing activities.
  • Develop and provide comprehensive privacy training programs to ensure employees are well-informed on data protection practices.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • Experience in configuring and operating privacy management platforms to manage Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and execute privacy program tasks.
  • Ability to scale processes and procedures, and partner with diverse teams across an enterprise.
  • General comprehension of, and interest in, IT, Information Security, and Privacy Engineering.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, data structures, and a general insight of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning technologies/methodologies is considered a significant advantage.
  • Experience in mapping, testing, and leveraging enterprise privacy frameworks (e.g., Fair Information Practice Principles (FIPPs), OECD Privacy Guidelines, GAPP Maturity Model, ISO 27701, or NIST Privacy Framework (PMF)).
  • CIPP/US, CIPM, AIGP or other relevant privacy or security certification preferred.
