Salary: $67,000/year
Job Duties:
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Human Services or a related field preferred.
Experience: Three years working with people with intellectual disabilities of which two years must be progressively responsible supervisory experience. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends. Must have a car and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier and by Agency policy.
Licensure/Certifications: None Required.
Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and Experience.

Job Duties:
- Provides supervision and support to staff and is responsible for all their job responsibilities.
- Assures people served are receiving active treatment during all program hours.
- Assures the program counsel meetings are coordinated and assures implementation of recommendations.
- Assures documentation is maintained to meet CARF standards, Federal, State and Local standards.
- Evaluates potential program participants.
- Assists in the selection of competent staff.
- Ensures that staff are properly trained on the job.
- Conducts constructive staff performance appraisals and ensures valid and timely completion of all evaluations in accordance with Agency policy and procedures.
- Monitors activities and supplies are available during operating hours.
- Uses crisis intervention techniques in emergency situations when people are in danger of injuring themselves or others.
- Monitors the Performance Metrics for the vocational program.
- Compiles data, submits monthly reports to include but not limited to Performance Metrics.
- Is responsible for staff development which includes orientation and timely completion of training requirements as dictated by Agency policy and individualized initiatives to encourage retention and staff growth while reducing staff turnover.
- Provides leadership for vocational program.
- Assists with the supervision and training of adults with intellectual disabilities in order to promote each individual’s growth toward his/her highest potential.
- Takes necessary action in emergency situations in accordance with Agency policies and procedures and reports such incidents on appropriate forms.
- Evaluates people served who are referred for admission to vocational program utilizing the standard evaluation form.
- Develops and writes service funding plans for people served who are being considered for admission to the program.
- Is responsible for other specific administrative tasks as assigned.
- Responsible for the flow of communication to, from, and between Direct Support Professional Staff, management staff, other departments, agencies, professionals and families.
- Creates and promotes a work environment which encourages recognition, communication, professional development and teamwork while demonstrating a commitment to Agency Values, Mission and Goals.
- Upholds Agency policy and procedures by conducting staff training and taking personnel action as necessary.
- Is a positive role model to people served and Agency staff.
- Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties.
- Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy.
- Attends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development.
- Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, people served, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public.
- Follows instructions and abides by Agency policies and procedures.
- Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.
