Description

Essential Functions:

  1. Complies with all Agency policies and procedures and follows contract specifications
  2. Keeps up with contract changes, modifications, and provisions
  3. Reads, writes, and speaks (communicate and relate information) English
  4. Oversees all aspects of cleaning of assigned areas
  5. Trains employees in proper cleaning procedures
  6. Acts as mentor to newly hired custodians
  7. Assigns general cleaning, maintenance, and floor care service duties
  8. Ensures all work is performed to contract specifications or company directives
  9. Promptly answer/respond to all calls or messages from project manager or representative
  10. Ensures all work follows Chimes DC Quality Control Program guidelines
  11. Inspects scheduled work and keeps daily log of cleaning discrepancies
  12. Signs inspection reports and other correspondence on behalf of Chimes DC
  13. Ensures completion of special cleaning requests as assigned by Manager
  14. Ensures assigned custodial workers and lead workers follow work schedules
  15. Maintains daily time and attendance records for assigned staff
  16. Verifies acceptability of leave requests and return to work documentation
  17. Ensures compliance with dress code and personal hygiene standards for self and staff
  18. Implements safety policies and procedures
  19. Ensures compliance with safety and security procedures for self and staff
  20. Assists in keeping SDS book current and chemical list updated
  21. Reports malfunctioning fixtures and necessary building repairs
  22. Completes employee appraisals and evaluations according to established guidelines
  23. Evaluates, disciplines, supervises, and provides feedback to assigned staff
  24. Inventories and orders supplies with approval of Project Manager
  25. Ensures proper care and maintenance of equipment
  26. Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks as assigned
  27. Passes and complies with CPR/First Aid training and OSHA training
  28. Attends meetings and training programs and relates information to employees
  29. Attends work regularly and remains on site for scheduled shift
  30. Passes and complies with all building and security requirements and procedures

Secondary Functions:

 

  1. Assists with completion of new hire paperwork
  2. Acts as Manager in absence of Manager
  3. Works with outside agency staff and job coaches to aid Chimes employees
  4. Ensures customer satisfaction/communication according to the statement of work
  5. Performs other duties, tasks, and special projects as required

Physical Abilities Needed to Meet Work Demands:

  1. Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  2. Ability to go up and down stairs
  3. Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, and, stoop
  4. Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs. as needed
  5. Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions
  6. Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

  19. Ability to use and care for equipment and cleaning supplies properly
  20. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with numerous interruptions

  22. Ability to deal with others in a positive, enthusiastic, respectful, and courteous manner
  23. Ability to provide guidance, direction, and technical support

Other requirements: 

  1. Valid driver’s license from state of residence and ability to drive, if applicable for site
  2. License must have been valid for at least 3 years
  3. Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency’s insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and procedures
  4. If driving 15 passenger van, must be at least 25 years old

Essential Personnel:

This position is designated as essential.  This means that when the facility is faced

with an institutional emergency, employees in this position may be required to remain at  their

work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the facility.

 

Education:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  2. Valid CPR/FR certification preferred
  3. Knowledge of regulatory standards

                       

Experience:

  1. Two (2) years of supervisory experience within the past four (4) years in directing cleaning type operations for buildings of the approximate size of the building(s) to be cleaned under this contract.
  2. Demonstrated ability and knowledge of building service management relevant equipment, chemicals, and their applications.

Notes:                        

  • At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and Experience
