Job Overview
Job Title: Bartender
Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing excellent service to guests in a fast-paced, social environment. This role involves preparing and serving drinks, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. Bartenders must have strong knowledge of cocktails, wines, and spirits, along with excellent communication and multitasking skills. A friendly, professional attitude and flexibility in scheduling, including nights and weekends, are essential for success in this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting providing excellent customer service
· Take food and beverage orders
· Answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverages
· Stay updated on current menu choices including food and bar specialties, menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
· Prepare mixed drinks and beverages
· Serve wine, draught beer and bottled beer
· Assist in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicate specific customer needs to the kitchen staff
· Responsible for collecting of money for drinks and food served
· Takeout orders as needed
· Attend to restaurant service bar
· Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beers
· Bus the bar, clearing empty plates, glasses, silverware and wrap food as needed
· Wash glasses, bar and equipment, and polish bar fixtures
· Requisition liquors and supplies
· Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks
· Remove empty bottles and trash
· Maintain a clean and efficient working environment
· Clear communication and teamwork
· Responsible for alcohol serving and abide to policies
· Use proper telephone etiquette to answer and direct calls
· Complete sidework duties
· Adhere to company policies and procedures
· Adhere to grooming and personal standards consistently
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Experience: Previous bartending experience is preferred; knowledge of drink preparation, mixing, and serving techniques is essential.
· Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and attentive to guest needs, with a commitment to providing excellent service.
· Knowledge of Beverages: Strong understanding of cocktails, wines, spirits, and drink pairings, including basic mixology skills.
· Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication to interact with guests and team members.
· Multitasking Ability: Capable of handling multiple drink orders, managing transactions, and maintaining a clean workspace in a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately prepare and serve drinks while ensuring consistency and presentation.
· Physical Stamina: Able to stand, lift, and carry throughout shifts.
· Flexible Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

The role involves constant interaction with guests, creating a social and dynamic atmosphere. Bartenders are on their feet throughout the shift, preparing drinks, handling transactions, and keeping the bar area clean and stocked. Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate peak service times, with strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. In this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, bend and regularly lift up to 25 pounds and move kegs up to 130 pounds. Able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.
