Job Title: Food Expeditor
Summary:
A Food Expediter plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of orders between the kitchen and the dining area. They are responsible for ensuring that food orders are prepared accurately, presented well, and delivered promptly. This role involves coordinating closely with kitchen staff to prioritize orders, checking for quality and accuracy, and facilitating clear communication with servers to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at multitasking under pressure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining area to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist with general kitchen support during busy times, and under stressful conditions as needed.
- Inspect dishes for accuracy, presentation, and quality before serving to customers.
- Change plates and/or wipe excess fluid from plates and garnishes
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prioritized and modifications are correctly implemented.
- Work with servers to ensure efficient table service, particularly during high-traffic periods and communicate when the kitchen is out of a particular item.
- Ensure proper handling and plating of dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Places and organizes orders for delivery to dining customers
- Resolve any immediate issues or special requests quickly to enhance the customer dining experience.
- Assists with takeout orders
- Prepare soups and salads when required
- Assist kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Must know all table numbers and sections
- Clear communication and teamwork relaying customer feedback and any dietary requests.
- Complete sidework duties
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Perform other duties as assigned
