Position Summary
To greet, instruct, and schedule patients in an efficient and timely manner; and to maintain procedure records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Schedules patients either by phone or in person. Reschedules or cancels appointments at the patient’s or doctor’s request. If a patient is rescheduled or cancelled, makes a note to be put in the patient’s chart indicating such and the reason, if possible.
2. Verifies and updates necessary patient information.
3. Records the patient’s medical record number, referring physician, and the current procedure description in RIS system.
4. Takes the patient to a dressing room, if necessary, and instructs the patient in proper gowning for the examination.
5. Informs the technologist that a patient is waiting and where to locate the patient.
6. Greets patients and public in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
7. Answers telephone, takes messages, and provides information in a professional manner.
8. Determines if the patients are in the correct area and instructs them if they are not.
9. Asks required questions essential for scheduled exams and has patient sign the appropriate form when necessary.
10. Logs all films coming into the Clinic and directs them to the appropriate area.
11. Handles requests for CD’s and films to be sent out. Obtains signed release and gives out films to be hand-carried by the patient to other physicians.
12. Performs related work as required.
13. Keeps work area and dressing rooms clean and stocked with clean gowns, forms, and all necessary supplies.
14. Maintains daily records of the number of patients seen, the type of exams performed, and number of exams ordered by each referring physician. These duties now maintained in the RIS system.
Qualifications
1. Experience: Up to six months of similar or related experience.
2. Education: Equivalent to a high school education.
3. Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Complies with Chinese Hospital Compliance Handbook including Code of Ethics and all statutes, regulations, guidelines applicable to federal and state programs. Responsibilities include, following the guidelines and reporting suspected violations of any statute, regulations, agreements or guidelines applicable to all healthcare programs.
Base Pay Scale
Starting at $31.31 – $36.98 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
