Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and reliable PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide compassionate care and support to TEEN GIRLS in our group home on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to be available at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous and quality care. As a PRN DSP, you will assist residents with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and foster a safe and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and Care:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a sense of belonging and well-being.
- Health and Safety:
- Administer medications and monitor for any health-related concerns, following prescribed guidelines.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, ensuring the safety of all residents.
- Individualized Support:
- Encourage independence and participation in activities tailored to residents’ abilities and interests.
- Implement care plans and behavioral strategies as outlined by the team.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of services provided, resident progress, and any incidents.
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and supervisors regarding resident needs and updates.
- Flexibility and Availability:
- Be available to cover shifts on short notice, including overnight, weekend, and holiday hours.
- Adapt to varying resident needs and group home schedules.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or healthcare preferred.
- Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field is highly desirable.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to work on short notice.
- Ability to lift and support residents as needed and perform physical tasks related to caregiving.
- Clean background check and adherence to confidentiality standards.
Schedule:
This is a PRN (as-needed) position. Shifts may vary and can include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on staffing needs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 32 per week
