What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time MS/HS Music Teacher position at Chinquapin Preparatory School?
Position Summary
Chinquapin Preparatory School is seeking a part-time music teacher starting August 2025. A part-time position involves teaching at least 2 classes and possibly taking on other duties such as but not limited to leading a daily chores group, taking on campus supervision duties, and/or sponsoring a student organization or coaching a sport. Chinquapin Preparatory School is a Monday-Friday boarding school and thus many faculty members live on campus and participate in other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Head of School.
The ideal candidate would have teaching experience in some or all of the following areas:
Middle and High School Choral Music
Middle and High School Band or Orchestra
Middle and High School Guitar and/or Piano
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree or higher in music, orchestra, band or another related field of study
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Teaching Certification in the field of music, band, and/or orchestra
Strong communication skills
Collaborative, team player, community builder
Student-centered teaching philosophy
Experience teaching middle school and high school students, minimum 2 years
Experience with classroom best practices and innovative teaching
Experience using TEKS and/or other learning standards as the course learning standards to develop assessments and curriculum
Knowledge of curriculum mapping and curriculum alignment
Experience with effective assessment design
Knowledge of engaging lesson planning design and implementation
Experience with differentiation and supporting student learning needs
Values and is responsive to constructive feedback
Salary and Benefits
Salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience
Salary plus boarding and utilities provided, including Internet/WiFi
