Job Summary and Qualifications

The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch, patient-centered care by providing essential anesthesia support to the anesthesia clinician during surgical procedures. Their proactive approach to preparing and maintaining supplies, patient monitoring equipment, and anesthesia delivery systems helps anticipate the clinician's needs. As a member of the perioperative team, the Anesthesia Technician collaborates with the circulating RN and the perioperative team to ensure a safe and optimal patient perioperative experience.

1. Stocks OR supplies and/or anesthesia supplies daily.

2. Maintains anesthesia supply inventory.

3. Provides for patient safety while transporting patients within the hospital and surgical services department.

4. Safely assists in the positioning of surgical patients.

5. Provides daily cleaning of the OR.

6. Operates, maintains, and stores all equipment in a knowledgeable, safe and efficient manner.

7. Demonstrates flexibility in unit to perform other tasks that may be assigned.

8. Appropriately handles all trash, regulated medical waste, and soiled linens within the department.

9. Communicates effectively with staff, peers, physicians, director, head nurse, external and internal customers.

What qualifications you will need:

Experience:

Required – High School Graduate.

Preferred – Nursing Assistant training or six months experience as nursing assistant. Previous experience in an OR or hospital.

Education:

Required – High school graduate or GED.

LICENSURE:

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
