Chipton-Ross is seeking Shipfitters for work in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The job starts IMMEDIATELY, and fitters are currently working up to 60 hours per week. Lots of overtime!
Per diem is $120 per day.
Shipyard experience is required.
300 nontaxable travel reimbursement if you work two full weeks (40 hours). You must also have no missed time during those two weeks.
Shipfitters will have to pass a 6" SMAW welding test using 7018 rods. They will be tested on their ability to proficiently light and use a cutting torch to cut 90 degree straight cuts along with 30 degree bevel cuts. They also have to be very proficient at using a torch and burning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications :
1. Single Pass Tack Welding.
2. Burning-Oxygen / Propane Burning Torch.
3. Heating-Oxygen / Propane Heating Torch.
4. Ability to comprehend complex drawings and blueprints.
5. Must have experience setting up, troubleshooting, and utilizing weld machines.
6. Must have experience laying out and measuring utilizing the metric system.
7. Must have experience working with blueprints.
8. Must have experience working with hand tools.
