Chipton-Ross is seeking a Marine ELECTRICIAN 1ST Class for an opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
Per diem pay is available for those who qualify.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
The First-Class Marine Electrician also called an Electrical Journeyman, is responsible for the layout, installation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment, as well as the ships power. Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprints, drawings and schematics. Shipyard production areas at times involve working at different heights, confined spaces, different weather conditions as well as multiple shifts. As with most every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependent upon the number of ships under construction at any one point in time.
REQUIRED EXPERINECE :
Requires a minimum of four (4) years of electrical experience in the commercial, industrial, or marine electrical field.
- A skills assessment will include both a written and a hands-on test.
PREFERRED :
One (1) year shipboard experience (sonar, radar, power, internal communication, navigation, etc.). The ability to read marine blueprints and work from standard and metric specifications, wiring hook up, fiber optics experience.
EDUCATION :
High School diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.
HOURS : 5 / 40, workweek.
1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
