Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual inspection of soldered connections and conformal coatings on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) in accordance with IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 standards. This role requires proficiency in using microscopes and various measuring devices to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed visual inspections of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.
- Inspect solder connections and conformal coatings under a microscope to identify defects and ensure adherence to manufacturing and quality standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, parts lists, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly and quality compliance.
- Utilize measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales to verify product specifications.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and report quality issues to production and engineering teams for corrective action.
- Interface effectively with manufacturing teams to address quality defects and ensure continuous process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with revision control, reference documents, and industry standards.
- Operate personal computers to document inspection results and navigate quality control systems.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum 2 years of experience in solder/visual inspection OR 3 years of experience in manufacturing/soldering of electronic assemblies.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in conformal coating application or inspection.
- Experience working under a microscope for detailed inspections.
- Strong understanding of IPC-A-610 & IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, revision controls, and industry specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with personal computers for documentation and reporting purposes.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification.
- Prior experience in a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of conformal coating processes and materials.
- Experience using automated or manual inspection equipment.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work may require extended periods of microscope use.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long durations while performing inspections.
- Ability to lift/move small components as required for inspection.
