The Youth Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing staff and ensuring the effective execution of duties and responsibilities for the PROMISE Youth & Sports Academy across multiple regions (Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.). This role involves overseeing and evaluating schedules, policies, procedures, and methodologies to ensure smooth operation. The Youth Program Coordinator will also be responsible for student membership and recruitment, assisting in personal growth, and maintaining accountability for personnel, property, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining and Building Community Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing community partners, organizations, and stakeholders to support the program’s goals and objectives.
- Identify and build new community partnerships that enhance program offerings and student experiences.
- Collaborate with community organizations, schools, local businesses, and other stakeholders to secure resources and create opportunities for students.
Student Safety and Development:
- Coordinate recruitment efforts to ensure active participation and growth of the youth membership within the program.
- Assist with student recruitment activities, including outreach to local communities, schools, and organizations.
- Support the onboarding process for new students, ensuring they are familiar with program guidelines and expectations.
- Develop strategies to retain and engage current members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
Program Administration:
- Administer program principles to provide maximum opportunity for student growth and improvement.
- Enforce published policies and procedures that pertain to students (cadre and cadets).
- Conduct required training in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure staff and students are well-prepared for their roles.
- Maintain comprehensive records and administrative documentation to track all training activities and ensure requirements are met.
Metrics of Success:
- Achievement of targeted skillset club sign-up goals for each region.
- Growth in active youth membership and retention rates over the course of the year.
- Successful recruitment campaigns, tracked through registration and engagement data.
- Increased community involvement and partnership engagement metrics.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the President & CEO to support program initiatives and growth.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in youth program management, sports education, or a similar field preferred.
- Strong skills in community outreach and partnership development.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and student behavior management techniques.
- Ability to develop and enforce policies and procedures in a programmatic setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, staff, and stakeholders.
- Ability to assess situations and provide timely solutions or interventions.
- Organizational and administrative skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Time Commitment:
- 32 hours per week based on program needs; primarily during evenings and weekends to accommodate youth activities.
Location:
- The position will serve various regions (Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C.) and may require travel between locations.
Job Type: Part-time
