What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Dog Trainer position at Chisholm Creek Pet Resort?
Dog Trainer
Chisolm Creek Pet Resort is looking for an experienced dog trainer to join our team! Ideal candidate will have current certification with the ability to offer basic, advanced, behavioral and e-collar training if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Meet dogs and create individual training plan for the dog
- Understand a pet parent’s needs and listen to their concerns
- Teach pet parents about dog behavior
- Teach commands to the dog and pet parent
- Treat all dogs with compassion and dignity
- Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior
- Communicate clearly with pet parents and other staff members
- Follow procedures for the safe handling of all pets
Requirements:
- Professional dog training experience
- Knowledge of different dog breeds
- Excellent communication skills and customer service.
- Flexible schedule.
- Treat all animals with compassion and dignity.
- Preferably hold a certificate(s) showing continuing education in the industry
