Job Description
Description :
Are you ready to join our team and make tails wag? Do you have a flair for transforming an unruly pup into a happy, well-behaved pet? At Chisholm Creek Pet Resort we’re seeking an experienced, dedicated, and reliable dog trainer to join our team! Our trainer will work directly with the dogs in our care, including our daycare, boarding and grooming clients, to develop positive behaviors and skills—leaving our resort as a happier, healthier pet. We’re looking for those with proven experience as a dog trainer, more than basic at home obedience. The right candidate will be ready to step in and change lives right away. We strive to provide a safe, fun, and rewarding work environment with a focus on pampering pets and ensuring smiles all around!
What You’ll Do :
- Client Consultation : Meet with dog owners to discuss behavioral concerns and their individual training needs.
- Developing Training Plans : Identify each dog’s specific needs and behavioral challenges (including but not limited to proper socialization, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, etc.) and set achievable goals, documenting their progress.
- Communication : Staying in constant communication with pet parents about their dogs’ progress; identifying additional behavioral concerns and discussing with pet owners; scheduling and confirming training appointments when needed.
- Basic Obedience : Teaching dogs to obey basic commands using various training techniques that are best suited to each dog’s personality and attributes.
- Keep a Clean Workspace : Ensure that the training areas are kept clean and tidy.
- Integration : Work directly within our pet resort to ensure that pet clients can thrive in all areas of our care, including daycare, boarding and grooming, and working with staff in these areas to create comprehensive plans to meet these goals.
- Client Education : Teaching pet parents appropriate training methods to enforce and maintain the behaviors and skills learned by their dogs during training sessions.
Please note that the above-listed duties and responsibilities are the basic requirements for this role and may be modified, expanded, or reduced based on the evolving needs of the company.
If you have proven experience and a passion for leading dogs on their training journey, come join our team and make a difference in a dog’s life today! Pay is commission based. Benefits for all team members at Chisholm Creek Pet Resort include discounted daycare and boarding for your own dog, with additional benefits available for full time employees such as medical / vision / dental plans and 401k.
