Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated systems, robotics, and control equipment that support our injection molding operations. You will ensure that automation equipment performs at peak efficiency to support continuous production and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated systems, including robots, conveyors, sensors, and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Conduct diagnostics and root cause analysis on equipment failures related to automation systems.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to implement and improve automation solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on robotic systems and automation components.
- Program and modify PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and HMI interfaces as needed.
- Document maintenance work, equipment issues, and resolutions in CMMS or other tracking systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
- Adhere to and promote safety standards and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on automation/robotics.
- Solid knowledge of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation controls.
- Experience with plastic injection molding equipment and robotics (e.g., Yushin, Fanuc) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to high-voltage equipment and automation systems.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
