Master Mold Process Technician

Description

We’re looking for a qualified, motivated individual to join our company as a Lead Molding Process Technician. As a part of our team, you will work on projects which require a wide degree of originality, latitude, and independent judgment to support production targets and business objectives. This key member of our team will play an integral part in setting standards for mold optimization, molding practices and operating procedures that will serve as a road map for operating efficiency and sustainability.

• Reads specifications to determine machine setup and prescribed temperature and time settings.
• Positions, aligns, and secures assembled mold or mold components, and machine accessories, onto machine press bed, according to guide marks, using hoist, power tools, and hand tools.
• Attaches connecting lines, such as air, oil, or water to mold, and adjusts controls to regulate mold temperature.
• Sets machine controls and turns dials to regulate specified machine forming pressure and plastic curing time in mold.
• Starts machine to produce sample product.
• Develops different standards for multiple different tonnage tools. (500 ton tool running in 720 ton press)
• Maintains department “6S” and leads Kaizen improvement activities.
• Assists engineering department and management in the development of standard operating processes for new products.
• May repair and maintain machines and auxiliary equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
