Job Summary:
Chloeta is looking for two (2) Remote Medical Coders for a Community Health Center located in Zuni, New Mexico. This position is to provide ICD-10 coding support for the health center M-F 8am to 5pm through a supported VPN.

Non-exempt
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Interpret and assign diagnostic and procedure codes utilizing the ICD-10 CM/ CPT / HCPCS from the documented information. Assures the final diagnosis and operative procedures as stated by the physician are valid and complete.
- Abstracts all necessary information from the electronic health record to identify secondary complications and co-morbid conditions.
- Select the correct principal diagnoses and operations/procedures.
- Abstract all necessary information, assign appropriate evaluation and management (E&M) of levels of service, assign the correct CPT/HCPCS codes that accurately describes each medically documented procedure.
- Abide by official coding conventions and rules established by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
- Utilize the Coding Que to complete patient visits within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with no errors.
- Complete the Incomplete Coding Report by reviewing, researching and correcting on a weekly basis.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to utilize a VPN connection with the facility
- Must be able to function and contribute as a member of a high performing team.

- Good organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Certificate of Medical Coding
- Required: Knowledge and skill in coding guidelines for Medicaid/Medicare and Private Insurance
- Required: Experience in medical coding with ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT coding guidelines
- Required: Shall provide three (3) current letters of reference from other health care providers/facilities familiar with skills in the same discipline.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
- This job operates in a fast paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
