MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a current license in the State of Kentucky to provide psychiatric treatment to youth up to 17 years of age. Prefer ability to treat adults of all ages in addition to youth.
- Experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Prefer experience working with children of all ages and adults.
- Ability to work within a team and take direction.
- Must be familiar with using an EHR medical charting system. (CareLogic/Qualifacts preferred)
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrate proven sensitivity to the various cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of CHNK Behavioral Health clients and staff, including a commitment to use of the Sanctuary Model and to the philosophy of All Children, All Families framework of cultural competencies.
- Experience working with geriatric populations, substance use disorder and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation preferred.
- Spend 75 percent of a 40 hour work week in face to face interaction with clients.
Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will provide psychiatric pharmalogical services to clients served at CHNK Behavioral Health, performing duties typically associated with an APRN position in a behavioral health setting. Location is in Northern Kentucky, collocated in Williamstown and Covington, KY.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform psychiatric assessments, perform and interpret diagnosis evaluation, diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders, provide evidence-based interventions, counseling, and prescribe medications as needed to patients in need of pharmaceutical interventional treatment.
- Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment and complete on day of service.
- Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options.
- Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity.
- Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions.
- Help patients manage their well-being with patient education.
- Ensure patient information, visit history, refer outs, lab follow-up, phone calls, and consults are carefully and completely documented in the EMR.
- Identify opportunities within local communities for development of outreach activities.
- Daily use of computer, software programs (EMR), printer, and scanner as needed.
- Develop a close working relationship with treatment team and community partners of CHNK Behavioral Health.
- Perform non-clinical tasks as required (e.g. responding to email correspondence, maintain training requirements, maintain professional clinic appearance).
- Responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement activities and Risk Management of medical and medication related events.
- Knowledge and use of the Sanctuary Model of trauma informed care. Use of the S.E.L.F. framework in service delivery as well as adherence to, and modeling of, the Seven Commitments when interacting with others and conducting one’s self.
- Coordinates with CHNK Quality Team regarding the maintenance of licenses and certifications related to clinical practices and agency policy standards.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
