What are the responsibilities and job description for the Virtual Design Construction Manager position at Choate Construction Company?
The VDC Manager position helps develop, implement and manage VC process for each individual office. They are responsible for implementing VDC strategy while providing direct support, training, and leadership to project teams and fellow Choate Employee-Owners . They will assist in the development of VDC based initiatives and processes and will serve as the liaison between departments. The VDC Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall performance, success, and support of VDC techniques and processes for their office.
As a key part of our project delivery process, you will shape and manage VDC scopes, contribute to the preconstruction and pursuit efforts with visuals, logistics, and support project teams with 3D coordination, constructability reviews, laser scanning, and drone usage. You will help drive innovation by piloting emerging technologies and training employee-owners on the effective use of VDC tools.
Skills, Qualification, and Experience:
- Four (4) to ten (10) years experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Deep understanding of construction processes and coordination workflows.
- Proficient with BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Revizto, Procore, and reality capture solutions (Drones, Laser Scanning, 360 Photography).
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead meetings and collaborate across disciplines.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for solving real world construction challenges with VDC based technology.
