Job Summary
The Department Assistant performs a variety of clerical and secretarial duties in support of the department. We're looking for a Department Assistant to join our creative, resourceful and volunteer-centric team! Our ideal candidate will:- Have excellent organizational and time management skills
- Possess the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Be self-motivated, work independently and collaboratively with others
- Offer exceptional customer service to our volunteers and stakeholders
Pay Range
Minimum $23.08 Midpoint $30.59 Maximum $38.09
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
- Required: Minimum one (1) year of clerical/administrative experience supporting a department.
- Preferred: Three (3) or more years of clerical/administrative experience supporting a department.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Preferred: Business-related college courses.
Training
- Required: None required.
Specialized Skills
- Required: Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, well organized, detail oriented, and able to appropriately prioritize. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Effective verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
