Job Summary
Working alongside the Pharmacy Educator, the technician trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for new and existing pharmacy technicians, ensuring they are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills required to excel in their roles. This position involves creating and updating educational materials, conducting training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs to new and existing staff.
Pay Range
Minimum $29.48 Midpoint $39.04 Maximum $48.61
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
- Required:; Minimum three (3) years of experience as a pharmacy technician at CHOC in an acute care hospital pediatric setting or five (5) years of inpatient pharmacy experience in an acute care setting. PTCB Certification
- Preferred: Experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
Education
- Required: High school diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate degree or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Specialized Skills
- Required: Proficient in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); knowledge of State and Federal laws; ability to supervise and instruct others in pharmaceutical work; ability to provide constructive feedback to improve employee performance
Licensure
- Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician – CA Board of Pharmacy,
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
