Lead Barista

Overview
We are seeking a creative, passionate, and experienced Barista to help create and lead a dynamic coffee team. As Lead Barista, you play a crucial role in recipe development using the highest quality beans and ingredients creating superior and unique beverages and food items. Your experience will help in the building of a creative and knowledgeable team that will deliver exceptional service and contribute to an enjoyable experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Participate in menu and recipe development while assisting in the sourcing of ingredients to deliver a creative and high-quality beverage menu.
• Assist manager in team building including training and guiding barista staff, scheduling and shift supervision.
• Create and oversee day-to-day operations of coffee area ensuring high-quality beverage preparation, excellent customer service, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Assist manager in creating operational policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products.
• Oversee complete opening and closing procedures including POS equipment cleaning and maintenance, supply stocking
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the Toast POS system efficiently to process customer orders and handle transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee area, including equipment, utensils, and seating spaces.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, pastries, and other supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Adhere to food handling and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for both staff and customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years barista experience.
• Familiarity with Toast POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash accurately.
• Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanor to engage effectively with customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine passion for coffee and willingness to learn about different brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
