Job Overview:
The Transition Counselor - Military Support will work closely with Service Members and their families to ensure a seamless transition from military to civilian life. This role involves providing career counseling, facilitating workshops, and supporting military personnel as they prepare for life after service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one career counseling to help Soldiers develop individualized transition goals and strategies.
- Assisting Service Members and their families in creating and refining their Individual Transition Plans (ITPs) and résumés for both federal and private sector opportunities.
- Coordinating and facilitating DOL Employment Workshops, VA Benefits Briefings, and additional transition-related sessions.
- Delivering comprehensive Transition Briefings to inform Soldiers of the available services and eligibility requirements for transition benefits.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in career counseling, education, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred, but a Bachelor's degree with additional experience will be considered.
- Two years of experience with the Military lifestyle, either through personal or professional experience with Military personnel and their families.
