Primary Tasks
- You will perform routine maintenance on mechanical or technological equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Manage the staffing for central plant and related operations (DDC, HVAC, plumber, electrician, kitchen tech, building operators and FLS). Oversee training of staff on daily operations and support emergency preparedness for the facility.
- Determine causes of mechanical or technological operating errors and decide what to do about it.
- Gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify possible effects, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; create alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
- You will use the work order system to ensure work is completed promptly.
- Establish high standards of performance for self and others; assume responsibility and accountability for completing assignments.
- Adjust to major changes in work tasks or the work environment.
- Work with others in an honest, fair and respectful way; give others confidence in one's intentions and those of the organization.
- Develop productive customer relationships; seek information to understand and address customers' needs.
- Perform other job tasks assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, related major or 4 years directly related experience
- Knowledge of machines, computers, tools and other equipment, including their designs, uses and repair.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, procedures, and strategies to promote operations for protecting people, data and property.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Able to distinguish between electrical, HVAC and BAS or DDC problems.
- Demonstrated experience as DDC technician.
- Accomplished at establishing course of action for self and others
- Basic computer hardware and software skills (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, KRONOS, UP KEEP, Schneider BAS and Polaris Lighting controls).
- Five (5) years’ experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
