JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate
(2) Training in effective mathematics content and strategies
(3) Three references
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of and ability to deliver effective instruction in approved comprehensive mathematics curricula for core instruction, in addition to high quality print and online resources to carefully plan units and lessons based on the grade-level mathematics content standards.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with program teachers, administrators, and staff,
- Ability to use oral and written communication effectively,
- Effective written and oral communication skills, and
- Ability to physically and emotionally fulfill the job requirements
JOB GOAL
To provide instruction in an intervention program designed to help students close foundational mathematics gaps
SUPERVISOR:
School Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide instruction in foundational math concepts
- Maintain a nurturing classroom environment
- Ensures progress monitoring of all assigned students receiving intervention services
- Create daily lesson plans in accordance with learning goals and objectives
- Maintain and record daily attendance
- Utilize pre- and post- assessment data to inform instruction
- Communicate student progress to parents
- Implement student mathematics improvement plans
- Attend all trainings deemed necessary by the Lead Math Intervention Teacher
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
