What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interlocal Teacher Aide position at Choctaw Nation Head Start/Interlocal?
Responsible for afternoon care, center activities and of children enrolled in Choctaw Nation Head Start while following all Head Start, Tribal, State and Federal regulations.
Requirements (Education, Experience):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Satisfactory pass any pre-employment or other testing as required by the Interlocal Co-op, Head Start or Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the safety of the children
- Adhere to DHS licensing regulations, tribal regulations and other state and federal regulations pertaining to child care
- Make sound decisions in emergency situations based on program procedures and regulations in the absence of supervisory personnel
- Maintain Child/Staff ratio at all times
- Interact with children consistently, positively and appropriately during playground and classroom activities
- Cleaning duties according to need and schedule set by supervisor
- Assist teaching staff with preparation of activities
- Participate in required trainings and tribal functions as need
- Assist in classroom set-up for the next week
- Act as Bus Monitor/Driver as needed
- Other duties as may be assigned
Physical Demands:
- Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
