What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Technician II position at Choctaw Nation?

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for performing, utility locates, mapping, meter reading, staff training, quality assurance, along with generating reports summarizing all field utility data including utility site evaluations. You will report to the Utility Manager.
Primary Tasks:
- You will conduct utility site evaluations for all CNO properties and construction projects.
- Conduct underground utility locates for all utilities before excavation for all CNO owned properties.
- Operate handheld computer used to collect data points on all underground utilities. Transfer collected data to desktop software creating detailed maps identifying all underground utilities within 3cm.
- Conduct monthly meter reading and data recordings.
- You will identify any abnormal variance in energy usage.
- Prepare reports for utility site evaluations, utility locates, and monthly meter readings for every project.
- Be responsible for training of all new Utility Technicians and perform quality assurance on locates and mapping projects by reviewing submitted projects as completed.
- Train all personnel on operating mapping software to create detailed maps of facilities throughout the CNO.
- Conduct business with ethics, compliance and transparency while observing applicable policies and audit requirements.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or 2 years of directly related experience in lieu of education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- 2 years utility industry experience
