Job description
The Sales Manager for California will be responsible for managing and growing the sales efforts for all Choice Economy Brand hotels converted from Motel 6 located in Modesto, Turlock, San Jose etc. This role involves leading a team of sales professionals, developing strategic sales plans, and building relationships with key clients, franchises, and stakeholders to drive revenue and market share growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
- Create and implement sales strategies through Cold Calling or research to increase occupancy and revenue across the region’s portfolio of hotels.
- Align sales objectives with the overall business goals of Choice Hotels. (Motel 6).
- Monitor regional market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor the regional sales team to maximize their performance and professional growth.
- Set clear sales goals and provide ongoing coaching to ensure team success.
- Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring team alignment with company values.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agencies, and other potential partners.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure long-term business partnerships.
- Address client concerns or issues to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Marketing Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, advertising, and initiatives aimed at increasing visibility and driving bookings.
- Monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities within the region and actively pursue prospects.
- Help expand the hotel’s footprint by identifying potential new franchise opportunities or acquisition targets.
Brand Standards:
- Promote and uphold the brand’s reputation by ensuring sales tactics align with the brand’s values and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- 4 years of experience in hotel sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in driving sales growth and revenue generation within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of sales and revenue management tools, CRM systems, and industry trends.
- Ability to travel frequently within the region.
Preferred Skills & Requirements:
- Experience with franchise-based hotel operations.
- Familiarity with Choice Hotels’ brands and culture. Especially (Motel 6)
- A track record of successful market expansion and business development.
