GENERAL SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced paralegal for our litigation section. Requirements include a 4-year degree
or completion of 2-year program from an ABA approved paralegal school. The candidate should have 3 years of personal injury litigation and experience with eDiscovery, Westlaw, and Court Alert or other docketing systems. Knowledge of Case Logistix and Disco is a plus. The candidate must have experience handling voluminous personal injury cases and managing document production and review. Trial experience in both state and federal court is preferred. The person must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. They must also have a professional demeanor and be a self-starter with excellent written and oral communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems. Manages calendar and assists in meeting deadlines.
- Meets with attorneys, clients and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.
- Drafts legal documents, including routing pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery. Completes filings on Pacer and Filetime in accordance with judicial procedures.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.
- Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.
- Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings and other items.
- Assists attorneys with trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings as needed.
- Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to Firm policies and procedures as outlined in the Firm Handbooks.
