Choices for People provides year-round support and instructional programs designed to aid individuals with disabilities in developing essential life skills, promoting inclusion, independence, self-sufficiency, and productivity, and maximizing the individual's quality of life in the least restrictive environment possible.
We assist in individual goal-oriented program planning and act as an advocate in the community through the removal of attitudinal, architectural, environmental, financial, employment-related, communicational, transportation, and other barriers.
Position Summary
Responsible for providing direct services to individuals and coordinating needs for each individual on their caseload. Support and advocate for all individuals served.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish a secure, positive environment that nurtures individuals' needs, self-expression, and goals.
- Oversee individuals and take care of their needs, performing housekeeping duties.
- Deliver individualized services, training, and care for individuals in compliance with healthcare professionals' instructions, their individual plan, and other specific guidelines.
- Maintain working relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job, volunteer, and social opportunities for clients.
- Evaluate an individual's background, skills, and interests and build resumes as needed to prepare individuals for interviewing and entry to the workforce to match potential jobs.
- Assist individuals with job searches via the Internet or business contacts to identify potential job openings, assist with the application process, and follow-up communication.
- Advance individuals' decision-making, productivity, and participation in a range of activities.
- Promote independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure.
- Facilitate individuals' inclusion in the community's experiences and activities.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
- Assist with daily living errands as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of individuals' requirements.
- Ensure knowledge base remains current with regulations and best practice trends for service delivery.
- Communicate with all stakeholders on a routine basis to share program changes, stay abreast of concerns, and evaluate service delivery.
- Maintain current, accurate, timely records for division.
- Actively participate in compliance reviews and audits to include tax functions if applicable.
- Uphold all policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed.
- Operate facility's vehicles transporting individuals in compliance with policies and governmental statutes.
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
At minimum, 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

$18 per hour, $1000 Employment Bonus.
