POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Control Technician is the lead operator on each shift. They will assist manufacturing in controlling the process. The Process Control Technician is responsible for ensuring machine set-up to specification and to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment, product quality, or raw materials. PCT will also audit, train, and assist other Rovicore Machine operators as necessary. The Process Control Technician, under the guidance of the Composites

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work overtime, other shifts/hours/days and run other jobs as assigned. Although you are assigned a “normal” job title and schedule, we require versatility in order to meet customer demands.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the job.
  • Understand and follow instruction, including prescribed work methods. Respond appropriately to direction and interact well with others. Work well independently and on a team.

  • Follow safety guidelines. Work safely and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job which you are performing. Report safety incidents or concerns immediately, taking corrective action when appropriate.
  • Ensure quality of product by following established work methods and procedures including inspection, quality checks, and documentation.
  • Accurately record data manually and in systems as required.
  • Observe safety and security procedures by constantly inspecting area for hazards, correcting and resolving safety issues within their control, reporting unsafe conditions, using equipment and materials properly and actively participating in safety initiatives
  • Set up Rovicore machine to begin production according to specification sheet and/or quality alert documentation and observe machine operations for evidence of malfunction and inspect products for defects.
  • Perform change-over duties such as drawing in stitching needles, tying in chopped glass creels, pulling over and core splicing as needed
  • Assist machine operators with doffs as needed
  • Assist other machine operators with machine troubleshooting as it pertains to quality and/or production.
  • Accurately record production activity including first quality, off quality, waste and production tickets.
  • Notify supervisor of machine malfunctions immediately and make timely notifications to Supervisor when excessive or repeating quality issues occur.
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Show initiative to meet goals by offering and asking for help when needed
  • Complete work in a timely manner. Strive to increase productivity by working quickly and effectively, ensuring safety and quality expectations are met.
  • Follow both spoken and written instructions and respond appropriately to management direction.
  • Work flexible hours/days as needed based on business needs.
  • Operates powered industrial trucks in a variety of settings and situations
  • Assists machine operator in performing routine maintenance duties such as setting selvage cutters, changing cutter blades, and other activities as instructed
  • Assists maintenance tech as necessary while performing required repairs; both planned and unscheduled, in order to return the machine back to production as quickly as possible.
  • must be able to make production decisions in the absence of supervision
  • Knowledge and understanding of required computer-based programs and databases

Communicates with scheduling personnel to ensure which styles are to be produced daily

SKILLS REQUIRED

Problem solving and prioritization skills. Willingness to make decisions.

  • Good vision to distinguish defects, read documentation.
  • Written and spoken communication skills to record data, read instructions.
  • Ability to read tape measure and record data correctly, both written and within systems (data entry).
  • Fine finger movement necessary to work with yarns, knobs, controls.
  • Ability to lift weights of approximately 25 lbs. consistently, to 6 feet using assistance of steps, stool, or ladder. Ability to lift heavier weight as needed. May lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, on platforms, remain in awkward positions when performing set-up or certain tasks. Must reach, twist, bend, push, pull, stoop.
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to hear emergency warnings and moving manufacturing equipment for safety purposes.
  • Understanding of professional conduct and appropriate interaction with others.
  • Ability to lead and influence others. Ability to understand business needs and communicate necessary actions, effectively leading others.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Data entry skills
  • Hour hazardous response technician course required
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on sound logic and proper resourcing of information
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and communicate effectively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
  • Prefer an experienced operator with above average aptitude for the process.
  • Prefer experience in industrial setting as a machine operator or maintenance personnel or leadership role.
  • Must have data entry skills or ability to be trained to enter data.
  • Must be willing and able to certify as first aid/CPR first responder and once certified, be a first responder to supply first aid/CPR treatment as necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial setting with an understanding of manufacturing principles, processes, and machinery.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.33 - $24.42 per hour
