The Process Control Technician (PCT) is the lead operator on each shift and directs other employees and manufacturing activities as instructed with the guidance of the Plant Manager, Process Engineers, and Supervisors.

As 3rd Shift PCT, you will help ensure the manufacturing process is followed and resolve issues with equipment, product quality, or raw materials. In addition, the Process Control Technician audits, trains, and assists operators and may assume some responsibility of the Supervisor when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leading operators int he safe and efficient product of quality fabrics
  • Ensuring the quality of products by following established work methods and procedures including inspection, quality checks, and documentation
  • Assuming responsibilities of Scrim Machine Operator as needed and becoming familiar with all jobs in area of responsibility
  • Assisting shift in controlling process on all scrim machines
  • Ensuring machines are set up according to specifications as well as performing change-over and beam out duties
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with equipment, product quality, and raw materials
  • Accurately recording data in systems required
  • Training, auditing, and assisting operators as necessary
  • Following safety guidelines and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - use of respirator may be necessary if working in the Chemical Plant
  • Reporting safety incidents or concerns immediately and taking corrective action when appropriate
  • Successfully completing the required HAZWOPER training in addition to CPR/AED/FIRST AID training if needed
  • Maintaining regular and reliable attendance - overtime and/or temporary change in shift, hours, or days may be required to meet customer needs

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Problem solving and prioritization with a willingness to make decisions
  • Efficient time management
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Food vision and the ability to distinguish defects and read documentation
  • Ability to read a tape measurer and accurately record data in systems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to record data and read instructions
  • Ability to lead others and communicate necessary actions effectively
  • Ability to hear emergency warning and moving manufacturing equipment for safety purposes
  • Fine finger movement necessary to work with yarns, knobs, and controls
  • Ability to lift weights of approximately 25 lbs. consistently, to a height of 6 feet using assistance of steps, stools, or ladders
  • Ability to lift weights up to 100 lbs. with assistance if necessary
  • Ability to climb and work from height s up to 15 feet tall
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and on platforms as well as work in awkward positions when performing set up or specific tasks
  • Ability to reach, twist, bend, push, pull, and stoop
  • Ability to operate OR willingness to be trained to operate a forklift
  • Understanding of professional conduct and appropriate interaction with others
  • Self-motivation with a willingness to learn new skills

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in the industrial setting as a machine operator of maintenance personnel with leadership role preferred
  • Experienced with data entry preferred
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification required upon hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.15 per hour
