Summary
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be managing and supervising volunteer activities to support our organization's mission. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is a part time (9am - 2pm) on a seasonal basis (with the possible option of a permanent position for the right candidate)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the volunteer program, including recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and engage volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to fulfill their roles
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities and hours
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program and make recommendations for improvement
Skills:
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team of volunteers
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in food bank management to promote volunteer opportunities and engage with volunteers
- Knowledge of food bank principles and practices
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
