Position Summary
The Health & Safety Analyst is responsible for the detailed in-depth analysis, development of analytic tools such as dashboards and visualizations, development of reporting tools, and overall management for health and safety data. This position reports to the Health and Safety Manager and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Implements safe work practices and participates in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, the public, and the environment at all times
Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Prepare reports and analysis for internal teams, external clients and/or stakeholders
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
Collaborating with team members to collect and analyze data
Visualizing data with graphs, infographics, and other methods
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and make recommendations
Collaborating with other employees, including engineers and programmers, to determine areas of improvement in relation to data
Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field
5 years proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting finding
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Ability to meet deadlines
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Able to commute to assigned locations daily
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

10 years of proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
Coding skills and language in Python
Knowledge of Intelex V6
Knowledge of Snowflake
Knowledge of Spotfire, Tableau and/or PowerBI software
Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Forms, and Power Automate
Knowledge of AI software and data management
